Andrea Jeremiah
Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is an Indian actor, singer-songwriter and performer. She works primarily with Tamil and Malayalam films. Her first appearance as an actor was in the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam as well as her Malayalam debut was with Annayum's Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah has an Anglo-Indian family background. Her parents were an attorney from the Madras High Court attorney. She has one younger sister who lives and works at Leuven Belgium as researcher assistant. Jeremiah grew up near Chennai and was a student at National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea started studying classical piano when she was eight. She was a big enthusiast who aspired to become a psychiatrist. In her twenties, she became a part of a group called the Jackson Five Young Stars which formed the base of her early performing and music composition career. She performed as a performer at her college in several productions hosted through The Madras Players or EVAM. Andrea was also one of the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea's career in theatre began with the play of Girishkarnad Nagamandala. She was a part of Shiva as a leo coffee ad in 2006. She also acted in a TV serial that airs on Podhigai. She performed throughout India. She played a brief role at the end of Kanda Mudhal 2005. Gautham Menon asked Andrea to portray a lead character after she sang in Vettaiyaadu's Vilaiyaadu. Andrea is Kalyani who is a wife and mother whose man has an affair. Andrea got the part of Kalyani when Simran Shobana, Tabu and others were offered the role. The movie was announced in the early part of the year 2010. In 2011, she accepted the role of a support as Venkat Prabhu starred in Mankatha. Mankatha was released on August 11, 2011. She made her Malayalam debut in a film with Rajeeev's Annayum Rasoolum in 2013.
